We are the Southend & District branch of Cats Protection, Britain's oldest charity
solely for the welfare of cats. All our work is carried out by volunteers. Last year
the Southend & District branch helped nearly 1,000 needy cats, including finding
new homes for over 300 cats and kittens. Over the same period we succeeded in
re-uniting more than 90 cats with their owners through our lost & found register.
We also arrange for cats to be neutered when their owners cannot afford the cost of
the operation - for details of this, please refer to our neutering scheme. Come along
and support our fundraising events that we hold throughout the year. Alternatively,
you might wish to sponsor one of our cats or help lots of cats by sponsoring a pen.
The Southend & District branch covers Eastwood, Leigh-on-Sea, Rochford,
Shoeburyness, Southend-on-Sea, Thorpe Bay, Wakering and Westcliff-on-Sea
within postcodes SS0, SS1, SS2, SS3, SS4 and SS9.
The area immediately to the west of our branch which includes Rayleigh and
Benfleet is covered by the Rayleigh & Castle Point branch.
Further west is the Basildon branch which covers the whole of the Basildon &
District Council area, including Wickford, Billericay, Stanford-Le-Hope and
Corringham.
